Where better to profess your eternal love than surrounded by the splendors of nature? The spring and summer months give us the chance to celebrate outdoors, on a backdrop of trees and flowers under a ceiling of blue sky, making this event one of unforgettable beauty and understated elegance.

The Dress Code:

In a long white satin gown with fresh flowers woven into her tresses, a garden bride is a lovely sight. On such an occasion, the bride can also decide to wear a shorter cocktail style dress. The groom will be equally radiant in a tuxedo or a suit and tie, as will be the men of honour. Like the bride, the bridesmaids can be either in full-length gowns or in elegant sundresses.

The Invitations:

Start the invitation with a short verse of poetry that is meaningful to you. For the invitation itself, Indian floral paper is a lovely way to set the tone for a garden or country wedding. If you are on a tighter budget, consider an invitation that has a floral pattern or border. Be sure that your guests are aware that the celebration will be held outside so they can dress appropriately.

The Location:

There are many locations that make an ideal site for country and garden weddings. Appreciate the full beauty of nature by holding you celebration under a gazebo in a park, in a garden, in an orchard at a golf course of by the waterfront. If you are pulling out all the stops, have you or your guests brought to the site by a horse-drawn carriage. A small reminder when planning outdoor weddings; foul weather makes exceptions for no one, always have a sheltering tent ready and waiting.

The Flowers and Centrepieces:

Woven baskets filled with colourful blooms, such as Gerber daisies and lilacs look beautiful and refreshing as centerpieces. You can also decorate your table with a floral arrangement that combines wild flowers, Queen Anne's lace and forget-me-nots for example, with edible and seasonal berries. Tired of the flower scene? Be original and decorate your tables with clear bowls, filled with colourful glass stones, surrounded by tea light candles.

The Menu:

Let you menu vibrate with the flavours of the season. Add some festive colour to the wine or champagne by dropping a few berries at the bottom of each glass. Follow with a country style dinner such as seasoned roast chicken or ham accompanied by creamy scalloped potatoes and a salad composed of seasonal greens. Grilled chicken or beef brochettes on a bed of wild rice would also fit the part nicely.

Wedding favours:

Picture frames with a photo of your couple makes a perfect gift for guests. Other great ideas include engraved glasses and personalised candle holders. For the environmentally conscious couple, there are many places that sell saplings that you can give to your guests, so that they can plant it and watch your love grow.

We recommend:

For a nice two in one, use many little flower pots containing beautiful blooms to create the centrepiece of each table and let every guest take one home as a wedding favour. You can have the pots engraved or decorated with personalised ribbon
